it's pretty crazy when something you've only talked about + dreamed about for years is finally a reality .
This is one of my longest + bestest friends right here.
We've been through so much together- middle school, high school, college + now adulthood years taking place .
We've spent countless hours in either her bedroom or mine talking about the future, what it would look like - where we would end up .
all of that, to say this -
Lauren, I am so happy that you have found the one who makes your soul deeply joyful for the rest of your life .
We used to talk about our weddings days endlessly, && now It's COMING .
Thank you for letting be a small part of this adventure that you are on.
& here's to you, Matthew .
May you be the husband to my best friend that she always wanted.
May you love + protect her, and lead her .
I have faith in you that you will continue to be a man after God's own heart
+ that you will translate your love for the Lord into your love for Lauren .
Congratulations to you both.
recently I started a "day-job" at a real estate brokerage in the town where I live.
In doing so, my three new bosses were aware of my passion for photography + asked if I could take some updated headshots + group shots for them.
Naturally, I was thrilled to have a break from behind-the-desk + to get to spend a couple hours learning more about what makes each of them unique.
We got to tour some beautiful new properties, full of lots of "ooh-ing" and "awh-ing", particularly on my end.
+ also questioning if they need a tenant to keep things in check, because . . . I mean, look at these places.
Hope you enjoy these shots full of laughter + genuine smiles from my three favorite realtors in the biz .
I present to you . . .
one of my dearest friends works in Highland Park, Michigan.
This is a sector of Detroit most people don't want to go to - or are 'fearful' of stepping in, based on its' high crime rates, abandoned buildings + poverty.
I, however, have found it to be nothing of the sort.
I find the people to be warm + welcoming- full of community,
rich in history, love, and culture .
I enjoy getting to know them + learning about the past of HP, as does my friend who works as a social worker in the schools.
So when she asked if I would come shoot an event happening at her school this spring, I jumped at the idea.
What a joy it was to experience this special day . . .
an event created for the young women of the school to practice good manners + enjoy being a girl .
Hope you enjoy looking through these as much as I enjoyed capturing them .
when someone in your family gets an idea,
one that will bring them joy + purpose . . .
Be a part of what they are doing.
Get on board + be their biggest cheerleader, and support them.
Recently, my cousin Kristen decided to venture into starting her own business.
Inspired by her beautiful baby girl, Presley, she founded "Adorned by Presley".
A bracelet + special occasions business that will help the everyday woman feel unique + beautiful.
She asked me to take some photos of her products for her website, and more can be found over on my business + collabs tab.
But for now, check these out + remember to support your families' dreams.
We all need a lil' extra love sometimes.
Before I left Haiti, yet again, I had the chance to go out in the early morning hours + capture this sweet friend of mine .
To know Maria, is to love her.
She lives her life so passionately + full that it makes everyone around her want to be a part of what she is doing.
She started a Non-Profit on her own with no money, no job, and all the faith in God that He was going to provide.
And now, she stands today, with a thriving non-profit helping women come out of dark situations + giving them hope + a future.
I am honored to know her and call her one of my best friends.
Oh, and as if you couldn't tell - she's freaking gorgeous, too.
A couple weekends ago I had the opportunity to sit in on an art-therapy workshop that was happening at Jasper House Haiti .
It was incredible to witness the girls release their emotions, and enjoy themselves freely. The instructor used dance, painting, and mediation - all to get the girls in a place of comfort + love.
At the end, they described a painting that had created called, "The Tree of Life" which depicted their former life, where they came from, how they were raised, etc.
And then - came up into the branches, leaves, and took full shape of who they have become + are becoming each day.
What a joy to witness, and learn more of their stories.
These women are powerful, resilient, and grace all in one.

This past weekend I had an incredible opportunity to travel to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to shoot an interview happening at The Marriott Hotel .
The interviewer, a journalist from The Mirror newspaper based in the United Kingdom, was here to report upon a recent scandal with a large organization based in Port-Au-Prince.
Founder & Executive Director of Jasper House Haiti, Maria Atkinson, spoke with the journalist to shed light on the reality of prostitution in Haiti .

I am continually grateful for the opportunities I have had during my time here & excited to see what else God has in store .
Some of you know, some of you may not -
but I've been in Haiti for the past month + will be here through the end of March !
I love getting to capture the in-between moments when I'm out walking on the street, or talking with friends, or riding on a moto.
Life here is much slower, much less-planned, as you would imagine island life to be.
A lot of people view Haiti as the most impoverished country in the western hemisphere.
And while it is full of poverty, I have found - it is also rich in love, in community, in friendship + so much more.
I hope you can see the beauty through the images here
& many more to come!
These two have got it .
The love, that you can just feel when they step into the room.
When you're in their presence, you can feel the care + the tenderness that they have towards one another.
I am so thankful I got to shoot them on their brief visit to Michigan this holiday .
We spent only 20 minutes or so in the freezing cold, among the trees + beautiful fresh snow.
Tay + Curtis,
your love is beautiful for so many reasons.
When I look at the two of you, I see a glimpse of the Lord + the love he has for each and every one of us. You give us all a glimpse into Heaven.
Thank you for letting me take your photos + for showing the world true love .
XoXo, Enjoy .
