A couple weekends ago I had the opportunity to sit in on an art-therapy workshop that was happening at Jasper House Haiti .
It was incredible to witness the girls release their emotions, and enjoy themselves freely. The instructor used dance, painting, and mediation - all to get the girls in a place of comfort + love.
At the end, they described a painting that had created called, "The Tree of Life" which depicted their former life, where they came from, how they were raised, etc.
And then - came up into the branches, leaves, and took full shape of who they have become + are becoming each day.
What a joy to witness, and learn more of their stories.
These women are powerful, resilient, and grace all in one.
To see more about Jasper House, please visit one of their social media pages or website link listed below.
This past weekend I had an incredible opportunity to travel to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to shoot an interview happening at The Marriott Hotel .
The interviewer, a journalist from The Mirror newspaper based in the United Kingdom, was here to report upon a recent scandal with a large organization based in Port-Au-Prince.
Founder & Executive Director of Jasper House Haiti, Maria Atkinson, spoke with the journalist to shed light on the reality of prostitution in Haiti .

I am continually grateful for the opportunities I have had during my time here & excited to see what else God has in store .
Some of you know, some of you may not -
but I've been in Haiti for the past month + will be here through the end of March !
I love getting to capture the in-between moments when I'm out walking on the street, or talking with friends, or riding on a moto.
Life here is much slower, much less-planned, as you would imagine island life to be.
A lot of people view Haiti as the most impoverished country in the western hemisphere.
And while it is full of poverty, I have found - it is also rich in love, in community, in friendship + so much more.
I hope you can see the beauty through the images here
& many more to come!
These two have got it .
The love, that you can just feel when they step into the room.
When you're in their presence, you can feel the care + the tenderness that they have towards one another.
I am so thankful I got to shoot them on their brief visit to Michigan this holiday .
We spent only 20 minutes or so in the freezing cold, among the trees + beautiful fresh snow.
Tay + Curtis,
your love is beautiful for so many reasons.
When I look at the two of you, I see a glimpse of the Lord + the love he has for each and every one of us. You give us all a glimpse into Heaven.
Thank you for letting me take your photos + for showing the world true love .
XoXo, Enjoy .

For Erica's session, we spent the evening walking through fields + trees + fall leaves .
When you hang out with Erica, you can see that she is sweet + kind, and easy to get along with right away .
As you can see in these photos, she's totally awesome + beautiful + one of the easiest people I've gotten to shoot .
She was effortless in posing + her smile shines through the lens with ease .
The Matthaei Botanical Gardens were peaceful + wonderful, and the perfect backdrop for all of these autumn photos .
Thank you Erica, for letting me capture these sweet memories with you!
You are a dream to work with + beautiful inside + out .
Okay y'all .
The first of my BEST friends is getting married + my world is changing forever, nbd.
I am so so excited for these two as they step into this new season of engagement - one that was anticipated + awaited + prayed about for a long time .
These two are extra special to me + their relationship is as well, because they met the night of my birthday 4 years ago .
They were friends first + then he started pursuing her + the rest is history .
It's a beautiful story of love + grace + learning + joy + all of the things .
I'm so excited for you to get to experience a little bit of their love in these photos.
We spent the day laughing + walking through the woods + finding cute places.
It is, as always, a joy + a privilege to get to photograph special moments like this.
And it was extra special because I love them both so much.
Here's to you, future Talbott's .
This is one of my very best + longest friends .
Aubry and I have been best friends since the days of middle school, braces, awkward crushes, sacred dance routines, and more .
She has stuck with me through some of the hardest times of my life + been there through the sweet moments too .
I am so lucky to have a friend like her. We can talk about anything under the moon + it is never too much, or too weird .
Enjoy these beautiful photos of her from the Renaissance Festival this summer .
We frolicked in our flower crowns + dreamt about turkey legs + watched men throw giant trees through the air .
Welcome to Student Community, or as we like to call it, "StuCo" at 242 Community Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Some of my favorite things to photograph are movement + candids.
I am in love with the way these photos came out.
You can see the genuine joy these students have when they come around one another.
They always have fun together, and the most important thing is that it's centered around the Lord + that they all get to grow with one another.
I had the joy + privilege of being a part of StuCo for a year + a half, and it was full of love + friendship + community.
I grew and was stretched, and learned more about myself + about God.
Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
The hearts of these students are beautiful + unique + special.
Love you all, StuCo Fam.
I met these two through one of my closest friends from college, Mikasa.
Yes, like the volleyball. Yes, she's awesome.
I am always honored when anyone chooses me to be a part of their big day, but it is an extra privilege to get to shoot weddings for people who have never met me, and trust me enough to capture their sweet memories.
These two were a breeze to work with.
They were all kinds of happy + sweet, and peaceful.
They weren't overly stressed out like many couples can get, and you could see the genuine joy on their faces the entire day.
One of my favorite pieces of the day was the first look.
I'm a super big fan of all things traditional, but having an intimate moment between just the bride + groom always brings so much emotion and intimacy.
I love doing them.
And for a photographer, you get incredible images with raw emotions. It's beautiful.
Another favorite part of their day was when we rolled up, party bus + all, to a Taco Bell + the bride + groom got out to get a mid-day meal.
It was an overcast day, and we ran into a little rain here + there, but that did not stop these two from soaking up their day + cherishing one another throughout.
Here's to you, Jennifer + Nathan!
Thank you for choosing me to capture your special day .
